Women’s Ministries
Bible Study
Our Thursday morning Bible Study meets each week from 9:30-11:30 a.m. at the church. Join us for an exciting time of searching for God's treasures in His Word while enjoying fellowship with a great group of ladies. We are currently studying the life and ministry of the Apostle, John, using a Beth Moore video-and-book study entitled 'Beloved Disciple'.
Spring Tea
Our annual “Ladies' Tea” is always a special afternoon of friendly conversation, tea, the most scrumptious food, and an exhilarating guest speaker. The ladies of our church invite friends, neighbors and family, and all are welcome!
Women’s Retreat
As the women will testify, the annual Women’s Retreat is anticipated as one of the highlights of the year. Our retreats are times to “get away and get refreshed.” All women are invited to come and share in this unique experience.
Men’s Ministries
Bible Study
Weekly, on Monday evenings from 7:00-8:30 p.m., the men of our church gather to study God’s word and pray together.
Monthly Men’s Fellowship Breakfasts
Each month, the men enjoy a special guest speaker, along with plenty of good food. On occasion, the morning is extended with a community project, a way we can show God’s love in a tangible way.
Children’s Ministries
Sunday School
Nursery Care is tender, loving care provided to children from birth to age 3 during the entire worship service.
Pre-schoolers, from age 3-5, enjoy their own Children’s Church during the entire worship service. They love hearing Bible stories and working on their special craft projects.
Children in grades K-5 have the option of joining their families for the first part of the morning service. Prior to the Pastor’s sermon, they are dismissed to Children’s Church. During Children’s Church, they are taught the principles and applications of God’s Word at their level of understanding.
AWANA
AWANA is an acronym for a phrase in 2 Timothy 2:15, “Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed”. The goal of AWANA is to “reach boys and girls with the gospel of Christ and to train them to serve Him”. This is accomplished from September through May, on Tuesday nights from 6-8 p.m. We provide children, grades K-6, a fast-paced evening divided into games, Bible memorization, and a devotional message. Clubs are divided into groups based on school grades. Awards are given for achievement and excellence.
Youth Ministries
Our goal in youth ministries is to provide involvement with Christian mentors that will bring about Christian maturity and outreach for Christ. We encourage Bible Study and Sunday School attendance.
Jr. High and High School students meet each Sunday morning at 9:00 a.m. for Bible Study, geared to support them in their Christian walk as they face the many challenges of our youth today. Summer Camp adventures are available at a Christian camp in Southern California.
H.O.M.E. Groups
The purpose of H.O.M.E. Groups
(Homes Open for Ministry & Encouragement)
is to explore the content, meaning, and application of the Christian faith, to study the Word, to encourage a sense of community within the Body of Christ, and to provide a supportive environment. We discover and develop individual gifts and provide a setting for group prayer and worship.
Prayer Chain
It is a rare and precious privilege to come to the throne of God and intercede for others. We come close to God’s heart and He offers His grace which enables us to make intercession for others as we pray and then pick up the phone to call on our requests and praises.
Leona Valley Community Church’s “Prayer Chain” has been blessed to participate with God in the many miracles He has done within the body. There is nothing more important that we can do, remembering that nothing lies outside the reach of prayer except that which lies outside the will of God. Our “Prayer Chain” is available to all within and without the church, and as F. P. Meyer says, “the great tragedy of life is not unanswered prayer but unoffered prayer.”
All “Prayer Chain” requests should be initiated by calling the Leona Valley Community Church office at 270-0353.
Wednesday Night Bible Study and Prayer
Each Wednesday evening, from 7:00-8:30, we meet at the church to dig into God's word and pray for the needs of our church, community and beyond! Everyone is welcome! |
